Altronix has partnered with App-Techs to integrate its network-compatible power supplies and switches with Milestone XProtect

Milestone XProtect VMS clients can receive Altonix device events, including connectivity status, value threshold breaches, and service and battery notifications directly in the XProtect Smart Client. Use the Milestone XProtect Smart Client as a "single-pane-of-glass" to monitor the health and status of your Altronix devices and the equipment it powers. The integration provides a key tool to maximize equipment uptime and monitor the status of critical infrastructure.

How it works

The integration is powered by the Bridge-to-XProtect (BTX) middleware application by App-Techs. BTX communicates with Altronix devices to receive, filter, and relay events-of-interest to Milestone XProtect.

With its tight integration with the Milestone XProtect SDK, BTX can by readily configured to trigger a variety of device-specific, event-specific actions in XProtect, including Event and Alarm Records with video bookmarks, email notifications and device triggers, Smart Wall camera call-ups, PTZ commands, searchable bookmarks, and many more. The integration requires no XProtect event server, management server, or Smart Client plug-ins.

The BTX is a lightweight application that installs on any Milestone XProtect server with a simple download. It is designed to run as a background Windows service once configured. Integration setup is simple and straightforward, with configuration only taking a few minutes per Altronix device.

Altronix Integration Dataflow

BTX is compatible with a broad set of Altronix power supplies that include network connectivity.

The integration itelf uses a BTX subsystem to connect with any number of Altronix power supplies. Users can connect to any number of panels and define specific alarm thresholds. The sub-system then communicates alarm data to BTX, which allows the user to specify which actions should be taken in XProtect when a panel event-of-interest occurs.

The integration features include:

•  GENERATE an XProtect alarm record, event record, or both.
•  ACTIVATE XProtect user-defined events to create real-time email notifications.
•  FILTER reductant panel events to minimize notification noise.
•  SCHEDULE XProtect actions based on hour/day/etc.
•  PTZ presets (on any camera, not just the device on which the event occurred.)
•  DISPLAY live matrix profiles.
•  ASSOCIATE additional cameras for better visual confirmation.

BTX also integrates with 30+ other third-party systems to expand your Milestone security ecosystem.
