App-Techs attends Tech Talk Live 2023
May 1-3, 2023 - For the tenth year in a row, App-Techs exhibited and presented on the latest developments in video analytics, access control, and cloud-based video security technologies at the 2023 Tech Talk Live Conference, hosted by IU13 (Pennsylvania Intermediate Unit 13). The event is one of the largest gatherings of school IT professionals in Pennsylvania.
App-Techs' Jenny Romanosky and Nancy Beauregard spearheaded our sales outreach at the conference.
App-Techs also had the privilege of co-exhibiting with Milestone Systems and LenelS2 Access Control Systems. We extend our gratitude to Alan Nydes, Milestone Channel Business Manager, Mitchell Buchler, Milestone Solutions Engineer, and Rich Huttick, Regional Sales Manager at LenelS2, for sharing their knowledge with prospective clients.
App-Techs is a proud annual sponsor for Tech Talk Live, this year serving as a Megabyte-level sponsor. Our sales staff met with dozens of IT professionals from across Pennsylvania, making it a productive and worthwhile outreach opportunity. App-Techs already has plans to serve as a sponsor for next year's Tech Talk Live conference.
Key takeaways from the conference were the immense responsibilities school IT administrators face on a day-to-day basis. With the demand for technology solutions ever-increasing, IT administrators must wear many hats while juggling many responsibilities, from keeping systems current with the latest security technology, to implementing and servicing learning technology in the classroom.
During the conference, Dan Fritsch presented on the case for "hybrid" security systems, providing his observations on how to balance the reliability of on-premise systems with the convenience and ease-of-use of cloud based solutions.
Justin Welch demoed the latest in networked-based security technology, including digital IP network cameras, access control, intercoms, audio devices, strobes, and more, emphasizing that a broad range of network-based devices can now be connected to a centrally-managed security network.
Paul Dillon made the case for schools to invest in video analytics as a means to boost security monitoring capabilities, improve perimeter security, and reduce net operating costs. Video analytics is an inexpensive way for schools to add 24/7, automated video monitoring to a pre-existing camera network that will alert you when events of interest occur.
App-Techs looks forward to contributing to the next Tech Talk Live conference in 2024.
